International Composition Contest for Plucked String Orchestra 2020

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Ensemble à Plectre Municipal d’Esch/Alzette (Luxembourg)


The CoViD-19 pandemic is forcing us to cancel the presentation of prizes award ceremony of the “International composition contest Ville d'Esch-sur-Alzette" 2020. This ceremony was to be held on October 24 at the theatre of Esch-sur-Alzette. The ceremony has been postponed to next spring in 2021. The date will be published as soon as conditions allow.

 

The winners of the contest have been published today: Please watch and listen to the announcement made by Juan Carlos Muñoz, artistic director of the centenary of the Ensemble à plectre municipal d’Esch-sur-Alzette, and Sébastien Paci, president of the jury of the international composition contest in the following video.

 

Congratulations to all the winners and also to all the candidates who have taken up the challenge! We are looking forward to seeing you very soon.


It is the objective of the contest to enrich the original repertoire for plucked string orchestra. All aesthetics and all musical forms are permitted.

By his application each participant accepts the rules in all its provisions, the French text being authentic. For any dispute, only the Court of Luxembourg is competent.
